Job Description

ErthDev is looking for a Java Backend Engineer to build robust services for products that need strong typing, clear contracts, and operational discipline.

You'll work on backend domains where reliability, structure, and long-term maintainability matter.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement Java backend services and APIs.
  • Model business domains with clear boundaries and contracts.
  • Work with relational databases and persistence layers.
  • Build integrations and asynchronous workflows where needed.
  • Write tests that protect critical paths.
  • Improve performance, reliability, and observability.
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions.
  • Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams.
  • Review code for correctness, clarity, and risk.
  • Document technical decisions and service behavior.

Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Strong Java experience in production systems.
  • Experience with Spring Boot or a comparable Java framework.
  • Solid understanding of APIs, concurrency, and data modeling.
  • Experience with relational databases.
  • Familiarity with testing and CI.
  • Understanding of security and error-handling fundamentals.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear technical communication.

Experience with Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS is a plus.
